Meet our Afro-Ecology Organizer, Ashley

ASHLEY WEATHERSPOON | SHE/HER/HERS

Ashley is no longer a team member here at Imagine Black. Her presence and hard work will continue to have an impact on the organization moving forward.

Ashley Weatherspoon was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. There she graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in psychology. 

Ashley is passionate about the environment and building healthy and resilient communities. Since moving to Portland, Ashley has worked as a fundraiser for environmental and climate justice organizations. She has a certificate in nonprofit fundraising from the Willamette Valley Development Officers (WVDO), where she also sits on the board. Ashley also holds a certificate in Urban Permaculture Design from City Repair Project. In the future, she hopes to pursue a graduate degree in sustainable systems development. 

When Ashley gets a seat at the table, she makes sure that everyone has had a chance to speak and feels heard.
