She/Her/Hers

Sydney is thrilled and honored to be apart of the crucial work being done at PAALF to ensure environmental justice for the Black community in Portland.

Sydney recently moved from Kalamazoo, Michigan, where she earned her Bachelor’s in Environmental & Sustainability Studies and Gender & Women’s Studies from Western Michigan University. With her background in intersectional feminism, sexual health, permaculture research, and aquaponics, Sydney wants to help build a sustainable future with racial, sexual, and cultural equity at the forefront of all efforts. She looks forward to developing meaningful relationships within her new community here in Portland.

In her free time, Sydney loves being cuddled up with her two cats, Milo and Clementine, going to concerts, and exploring all the hiking trails the PNW has to offer.

When Sydney gets a seat at the table, she packs a few extra thrones to share with her Queens.

As of March 2020, Sydney is no longer a team member here at Imagine Black. Her presence and hard work will continue to have an impact on the organization moving forward.
