Meet Our Creative Communications Manager, Mireaya
Mireaya Medina | she/her/hers
MIREAYA IS NO LONGER A TEAM MEMBER HERE AT IMAGINE BLACK. HER PRESENCE AND HARD WORK WILL CONTINUE TO HAVE AN IMPACT ON THE ORGANIZATION MOVING FORWARD.
Mireaya Medina is a Portland native-born in the Albina neighborhood. Her Portland roots go back to her grandmother and mother living in Vanport, then being displaced. Mireaya knows the power of place, placemaking, community, and identity and believes PAALF encompasses all those things.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Science and Arts degree in Design and loves offering her designs to community orgs, shifting preconceived notions and narratives, and spending time grounding in nature.
Mireaya has been serving community organizations in multiple capacities for over 15 years including American Friends Service Committee, Rock ‘N’ Roll Camp for Girls, Youth Organized & United to Help, Books Not Bars Oregon, SE Uplift, and Black and Beyond the Binary.
When Mireaya gets a seat at the table, she makes certain there are enough seats for her whole community to come through, sit next to her, and build collective impact for systemic change.
