On Sunday, we gathered for a powerful evening of storytelling, reflection, and community at the Hollywood Theater for the screening of Beyond Walls, a short film collection amplifying the voices of incarcerated individuals and their families.

The event, hosted by Imagine Black’s Reimagining Public Safety Project in partnership with Working Films, allowed us to engage in deep conversations about systemic injustice and community-driven solutions. 

Through the panel discussion with Imagine Black’s President and Executive Director, Joy Alise Davis,.Dr. Lisa Bates, and Kenny Hamilton, we explored how solidarity, restorative justice, and abolitionist frameworks can help us reimagine safety beyond policing and prisons.

💡 Beyond Walls illuminated the urgent need for transformative change in our justice system and the power of community-led initiatives in creating safety, dignity, and freedom for all.
